Two hill parks frame Union Square Residences: Fort Canning to the north-east and Pearl’s Hill to the south-west, with the Singapore River running between them.
Fort Canning Park Near Union Square Residences
Fort Canning Park, about 700 metres from the site, crowns the hill that has watched over the river since the days of the early Malay kingdom of Singapura. Today it is a park of lawns, old trees and heritage gardens, with trails leading up from Clarke Quay and River Valley Road, spaces used for concerts and open-air screenings, and the underground Battlebox, a wartime command centre.
The park is a natural place for a morning run or an evening walk, and its paths connect down to the river promenade and to the museum district beyond.

Pearl’s Hill City Park Near Union Square Residences
Pearl’s Hill City Park, about 640 metres to the south-west, is a quieter green hill above Outram, built around the area of the old Pearl’s Hill service reservoir. Its shaded paths and open lawns are well away from the traffic of the city centre, and it is a short walk across New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Sen Street from Union Square. From the Sky Gym on level 34 of Union Square Residences, the developer’s brochure notes views towards Pearl’s Hill and Chinatown.
Hong Lim Park and the Green Spaces Close to Union Square Residences
Closer still, Hong Lim Park is about 420 metres away across Upper Cross Street, and the Union Square development adds its own public spaces: the Central Plaza, the Grand Stand and the Signature Garden on level 1, with more than 70% of the site area planned as greenery.

Hill to Hill Through Union Square Residences
The developer’s brochure describes a line of nature trails from Fort Canning Park, along the Singapore River, to the top of Pearl’s Hill, with Union Square in the middle. Inside the tower, the seven landscaped Recreational Pods bring the same idea indoors, with planting on the way up to Union Vista. The amenities page describes them, and the river guide covers the promenade between the two hills.
